Abstract
Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to identify the influence of nurses¡¯ spirituality on hospice care provided by nurses in long-term care facilities.

Methods: The participants were 161 nurses working in long-term care facilities in D and P cities. Data were collected from October to December, 2010 through questionnaires which included the Measure of Spirituality for Koreans by Lee et al. (2003) and Measure of Hospice Nursing Interventions by Bae (2000). Data analysis was done with SPSS/WIN 15.0 program and included one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression.
Results: There was a significantly positive relationship between spirituality and hospice nursing interventions (r=.57, p<.001). Spirituality accounted for 32.0% of the variance in hospice nursing interventions for nurses in long-term care facilities.

Conclusion: Spirituality was the most important variable predicting hospice nursing interventions by nurses in long-term care facilities. These findings suggest there is a need to develop effective programs to improve spirituality of nurses in long-term care facilities.
